Abstract
(EN) Novel liquid crystal compounds exhibiting wide liquid-crystal temperature ranges, a large anisotropy of permittivity, and a large optical anisotropy; liquid crystal compositions containing them; and liquid crystal display elements made by using the compositions. The compounds are cyclohexane derivatives of general formula (1) wherein R is C1-C10 alkyl, one or more methylene groups of which may be replaced by oxygen or vinylene (-CH=CH-), with the proviso that no two of the methylene groups adjacent to each other are simultaneously replaced thereby; A1, A2, A3 and A4 are each 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,3-pyrimidine-2,5-diyl, 1,3-dioxane-2,5-diyl, or optionally fluorinated 1,4-phenylene; B1, B2 and B3 are each independently a covalent bond, 1,2-ethylene, 1,2-ethenylene, 1,2-ethynylene, carbonyloxy, methyleneoxy or 1,4-butylene; m, n and p are each 0 or 1; and G is a group of formulae (2), (3) or (4).
(FR) L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés de cristaux liquides présentant de larges gammes de températures de cristaux liquides, une grande anisotropie ou permittivité, et une grande anisotropie optique; des compositions de cristaux liquides contenant ceux-ci; et des éléments d'affichage à cristaux liquides fabriqués en employant ces compositions. Ces compositions sont des dérivés de cyclohexane représentés par la formule générale (1), dans laquelle R représente un alkyle C1-C10, un ou plusieurs groupes méthylène pouvant être remplacés par de l'oxygène ou du vinylène (-CH=CH-), à condition que deux groupes méthylène adjacents ne soient pas remplacés simultanément par ce moyen; A1, A2, A3 et A4 représentent chacun 1,4-cyclohéxylène, 1,3-pyrimidine-2,5-diyle, 1,3-dioxane-2,5-diyle, ou éventuellement 1,4-phénylène fluoré; B1, B2 et B3 sont chacun, pris indépendamment, une liaison covalente, 1,2-éthylène, 1,2-éthénylène, 1,2-éthynylène, carbonyloxy, méthylèneoxy ou 1,4-butylène; m, n et p représentent chacun 0 ou 1; et G est un groupe de la formule (2), (3) ou (4).
