Abstract

The heavy road vehicle radial tyre with H/S form ratio not more than 0.60, with a top bracing ply (2) consisting of at least two cross fibre working laps (21, 22) and of at least one circumferential cord lap (20), arranged above the body ply (1) and a tyre tread (10) of length L. It is characterised in that between the circumferential cord lap (20) and the first radially innermost working lap (21) is set a layer of a rubbery mixture (4) with low modulus of elasticity, of constant thickness between 2 and 3 mm and having a width LM equal to L21, while the second radially external working lap (22) of axial width L22, greater than width L21, is radially separated from the edge of the circumferential cord lap (20), by a rubber pad (5) of high modulus of elasticity, axially extending from the end of the working lap (21) beyond the end of the circumferential cord lap (20), and, radially external to said pad (5),by a rubber wedge (6) with a modulus intermediate between the low and the high moduli and axially extending substantially from the edge of the radially external working lap (22) to a point axially internal to the end of the working lap (21).

Pneumatique radial 'Poids-Lourds' de rapport de forme H/S au plus égal à 0,60, avec une armature de sommet (2) composée d'au moins deux nappes (21, 22) de travail croisées et d'au moins une nappe (20) de câbles circonférentiels, disposée au-dessus de la nappe de carcasse (1) et une bande de roulement (10) de largeur L, caractérisé en ce qu'est disposée, entre la nappe de câbles circonférentiels (20), et la première nappe de travail (21) radialement la plus à l'intérieur, une couche de mélange caoutchouteux (4) de faible module d'extension, d'épaisseur constante comprise entre 2 et 3 mm et ayant une largeur LM égale à L21, alors que la deuxième nappe de travail (22) radialement à l'extérieur de largeur axiale L22, supérieure à la largeur L21, est séparée radialement du bord de la nappe de câbles circonférentiels (20), d'une part par un coussin de caoutchouc (5) de fort module d'extension, s'étendant axialement de l'extrémité de la nappe de travail (21) au-delà de l'extrémité de la nappe de câbles circonférentiels (20), et d'autre part, radialement à l'extérieur dudit coussin (5), par un coin de caoutchouc (6) de module intermédiaire entre le bas module et le fort module et s'étendant axialement sensiblement du bord de la nappe de travail (22) radialement à l'extérieur à un point axialement à l'intérieur de l'extrémité de la nappe de travail (21).
