Abstract

The apparatus has a long cylindrical shape (10), inflated with air under slight excess pressure, comprising: an evaporating chamber (12), a first condensing chamber (14) and a second condensing chamber (30); the evaporating chamber (12) is provided with a thermal insulating transparent cover (46b) and its external wall is made up of a black impermeable membrane, internally coated with a hydrophile lap; the first condensing chamber (14) has an impermeable wall and is separated from the evaporating chamber (12) by a dividing partition (16), coated with a hydrophile lap of this chamber (12); the second condensing chamber (30) communicates with the two preceding ones and its wall which comprises an impermeable membrane and an external hydrophile lap, exposed to the open air and kept wet by a permanent supply of water; a ventilating fan (28) blows air in close circuit in the three chambers and associated means (54-56) maintain excess pressure therein; the fresh water is collected at a lower point (64) of the second condensation chamber (30) and the brine at a lower point (66) of the evaporation chamber (12). The invention is useful for economical production of fresh water in dry regions.

L'appareil présente la forme d'un long cylindre (10), gonflé d'air sous légère surpression, qui comprend: une chambre d'évaporation (12), une première chambre de condensation (14) et une seconde chambre de condensation (30); la chambre d'évaporation (12) est pourvue d'une couverture transparente d'isolation thermique (46b) et sa paroi extérieure est constituée par une membrane imperméable noire, intérieurement revêtue d'une nappe hydrophile; la première chambre de condensation (14) possède une paroi imperméable et est séparée de la chambre d'évaporation (12) par une cloison mitoyenne (16), revêtue d'une nappe hydrophile appartenant à cette chambre (12); la seconde chambre de condensation (30) communique avec les deux précédentes et sa paroi qui comporte une membrane imperméable et une nappe hydrophile extérieure, exposée à l'air est maintenue humide par un apport d'eau permanent; un ventilateur (28) fait circuler de l'air en circuit fermé dans les trois chambres et des moyens associés (54-56) y maintiennent une surpression; l'eau douce est recueillie en un point bas (64) de la seconde chambre de condensation (30) et la saumure en un point bas (66) de la chambre d'évaporation (12). Application: production économique d'eau douce dans les régions sèches.
