Abstract

The subject invention relates to novel compositions of neutral and/or alkaline cellulase and methods for obtaining neutral and/or alkaline cellulase compositions from $i(Chrysosporium) cultures, in particular $i(Chrysosporium lucknowense). This invention also provides mutants and methods of generating mutants of $i(Chrysosporium) capable of producing neutral and/or alkaline cellulase. This invention also relates to the genes encoding the enzymes comprising the neutral and/or alkaline cellulase composition. In addition, this invention provides methods of culturing $i(Chrysosporium) to produce neutral and/or alkaline cellulases. The neutral and/or alkaline cellulase compositions of the subject invention can be used in a variety of processes including stone washing of clothing, detergent processes, deinking, color brightening, depilling and biobleaching of paper and pulp and treatment of waste streams. The present invention also relates to the isolation and purification of cellulase enzymes, having glucanase and cellobiohydrolase activity, and useful for stonewashing applications.

L'invention porte sur de nouvelles compositions de cellulases neutres et/ou alcalines et à des procédés d'obtention de ces compositions à partir de cultures de $i(Chrysosporium), notamment de $i(Chrysosporium lucknowense). Cette invention porte également sur des mutants et des procédés de génération de mutants de $i(Chrysosporium) capable de produire la cellulase neutre et/ou alcaline. L'invention porte également sur des gènes codant les enzymes comprenant la composition de cellulases neutres et/ou alcalines. De plus, cette invention porte sur des procédés de mise en culture de $i(Chrysosporium) de façon à produire des cellulases neutres et/ou alcalines. Les compositions de cellulases neutres et/ou alcalines de cette invention peuvent être utilisées dans une variété de processus tels que le lavage à la pierre de vêtements, des processus détergents, le désencrage, l'avivage des couleurs, le déboulochage et le bioblanchiment de la pâte et du papier ainsi que dans le traitement de courants résiduaires. La présente invention porte également sur l'isolation et la purification des enzymes cellulases, ayant une activité glucanase et cellobiohydrolase, et utiles dans des applications de lavage à la pierre.
