A dual axis single mirror microelectromechanical scanner is used in place of multiple single axis, single mirror optomechanical or electro/acoustooptic scanners for scanning image areas in various devices such as large screen projection televisions, direct retinal scan displays, facsimile machines, document scanners, bar code scanners, laser light show displays, oscilloscopes, xero/photographic reproduction and stereophotolithography devices. The dual axis single mirror microelectromechanical scanner is inexpensive, extremely small and requires very low power.

La présente invention décrit un lecteur optique de type microélectroméchanique à un seul miroir à deux axes utilisé à la place de plusieurs lecteurs de type électrooptique, électroacoustique ou optomécanique à un seul miroir à un axe pour le balayage de zones d'image de différents appareils tels que: vidéoprojecteurs, afficheurs à balayage rétinien direct, télécopieurs, lecteurs de documents, lecteurs de code barre, appareils pour spectacles avec jeu de lumière laser, oscilloscopes, appareils de reproduction xérographiques ou photographiques et stéréophotolithograveurs. Le lecteur optique de type microélectromécanique à un seul miroir à deux axes est bon marché, extrêmement petit et consomme peu d'énergie.
