Abstract:
(EN) A database central routing device is provided for routing incoming access requests for internet access among a variety of on-line service providers (1721). The device generally includes a central server (1724) having a list of algorithms pertaining to access phone numbers of internet access providers (1732) to be chosen from. The central routing device further includes an automatic phone number identifier (1728) to identify incoming calls in order to identify the user as a customer. An algorithm generator (1736) is also included in order to download algorithms pertaining to particular phone numbers in order to give the user access to a variety of internet access providers. The central routing device allows the user to select from a number of internet access providers depending on the availability of the providers. Factors such as time of day, consistent peak and off peak hours of any particular provider, the time of access, the type of user such as consumer or business user, and other factors in order to make efficient use of a variety of internet access providers.
(FR) Cette invention concerne un dispositif de routage central pour base de données, lequel permet de router des demandes d'accès à Internet parmi divers prestataires de services se trouvant en ligne. D'une manière générale, ce dispositif comprend un serveur central qui possède une liste d'algorithmes se rapportant à des numéros de téléphone d'accès, ces numéros appartenant à des fournisseurs d'accès à Internet parmi lesquels il est possible de choisir. Ce dispositif de routage central comprend également une unité d'identification automatique de numéros de téléphone, laquelle va identifier les appels entrants afin de pouvoir identifier un utilisateur comme un client. Un générateur d'algorithmes va décharger des algorithmes se rapportant à des numéros de téléphone particuliers, ceci de manière à ce que l'utilisateur puisse accéder à divers fournisseurs d'accès à Internet. Ce dispositif de routage central permet à un utilisateur de choisir parmi un certain nombre de fournisseurs d'accès à Internet en fonction de la disponibilité de ces derniers. Afin d'utiliser efficacement les divers fournisseurs d'accès à Internet, ce système tient également compte de facteurs tels que l'heure, les heures de pointe ou les heures calmes d'un fournisseur particulier, le temps d'accès, ainsi que le type d'utilisateur, tel qu'un client ou un utilisateur commercial, entre autres.
