(EN)A composition which can make the surface of a member hydrophilic to impart anti-fogging properties thereto. This composition comprises (a) photocatalyst particles made of a metal oxide, (b) at least one component selected from the group consisting of particulate silica, precursors capable of forming silicone resin films, and precursors capable of forming silica films, and (c) a solvent, with the total content of solid components of the components (a) and (b) in the composition being 0.01 to 5 % by weight. The composition can impart hydrophilicity to a member by an extremely simple means of applying the composition to the member and drying or heating it. The hydrophilic thin film thus formed is transparent and therefore does not impair the transparency and appearance of the member, even when the member is essentially required to be transparent. The surface of a member having a film formed from the composition thereon has properties such that waterdrops adhering to the surface are immediately evaporated and that the surface is little stained and can be easily rid of stains even if stained.
(FR)Cette invention se rapporte à une composition qui rend la surface d'un objet hydrophile, afin de lui conférer des propriétés anti-buée. Cette composition comprend: (a) des particules photocatalytiques constituées d'un oxyde de métal; (b) au moins un composant choisi dans le groupe constitué par de la silice particulaire, des précurseurs capables de former des films de résine de silicone et des précurseurs capables de former des films de silice; et (c) un solvant; la teneur totale en composant solide des composants (a) et (b) de la composition étant comprise entre 0,01 et 5 % en poids. Cette composition peut rendre hydrophile un objet par un moyen extrêmement simple, c'est-à-dire en appliquant ladite composition audit objet et en la faisant sécher ou en la chauffant. Le mince film hydrophile ainsi formé est transparent et il n'affecte par conséquent en rien la transparence et l'aspect de l'objet, même si cet objet doit essentiellement être transparent. La surface d'un objet sur lequel a été formé un film à partir de ladite composition possède des propriétés telles que les gouttes d'eau adhérant à sa surface s'évaporent immédiatement et sa surface ne se salit guère et peut être aisément nettoyée si elle est salie.
