Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf das Gebiet der Keramik und betrifft eine offenzellige Schaumkeramik, wie sie z.B. als Tiefenfilter zur Anwendung kommen kann und ein Verfahren zu deren Herstellung. Die Aufgabe der Erfindung besteht darin, mit einem einfachen und preiswerten Verfahren eine offenzellige Schaumkeramik herzustellen. Die Aufgabe wird gelöst durch eine offenzellige Schaumkeramik, bei der die inneren Hohlräume, Risse und die Porosität der keramischen Stege mit einer oder mehreren metallischen und/oder keramischen Phasen und/oder Glasphasen ganz oder teilweise gefüllt sind. Weiterhin wird die erfindungsgemäße offenzellige Schaumkeramik hergestellt, indem während oder nach der Sinterung die Hohlräume, Risse und die Porosität der keramischen Stege mit einer Schmelze oder einer Suspension ganz oder teilweise gefüllt werden, wobei die Schmelze und die Suspension unterhalb der Schmelztemperatur der Schaumkeramik schmelzen, einen ähnlichen Ausdehnungskoeffizienten wie die Schaumkeramik aufweisen, sehr gut benetzend sind und nicht oder teilweise mit Bestandteilen der Schaumkeramik reagieren.

The invention relates to the field of ceramics and concerns an open-cell expanded ceramic which may be used in the form of a deep-bed filter, and a process for the production thereof. The object of the invention is to produce an open-cell expanded ceramic by a simple and economical process. The object is attained by an open-cell expanded ceramic in which the inner cavities, cracks and the porosity of the ceramic members are filled partially or completely by one or a plurality of metal and/or ceramic phases and/or glass phases. The open-cell expanded ceramic according to the invention is also produced in that during or after sintering the cavities, cracks and the porosity of the ceramic members are partially or completely filled with a melt or a suspension which melt below the melting temperature of the expanded ceramic, have a coefficient of expansion similar to the coefficient of expansion of the expanded ceramic, and a very good wetting capacity, and only react partially or not at all with constituents of the expanded ceramic.

L'invention a trait au domaine de la céramique et concerne en particulier une céramique expansée à cellules ouvertes, pouvant être utilisée par ex. sous forme de filtre à lit profond, ainsi qu'un procédé pour sa production. L'invention a pour but de produire une céramique expansée à cellules ouvertes au moyen d'un procédé simple et économique. Ce but est atteint au moyen d'une céramique expansée à cellules ouvertes, dans laquelle les cavités internes, les fissures et la porosité des nervures céramiques sont remplies totalement ou partiellement avec une ou plusieurs phases métalliques et/ou céramiques et/ou des phases vitreuses. Le procédé de production de céramique expansée à cellules ouvertes selon l'invention consiste en outre à remplir totalement ou partiellement, pendant ou après le frittage, les cavités, les fissures et la porosité des nervures céramiques avec une matière fondue ou une suspension. La matière fondue et la suspension fondent à une température inférieure au point de fusion de la céramique expansée, présentent un coefficient de dilatation thermique équivalent à celui de la céramique expansée, un très bon pouvoir mouillant et réagissent en partie ou ne réagissent pas avec les constituants de la céramique expansée.
