Abstract

A height adjustable load support structure (20) has a base frame (22), and a generally planar support surface (32). Preferably, two extendable vertical support assemblies (26) support the surface (32) for vertical movement relative to the base frame (22). Each support assembly (26) is engaged by a spring biased pivotable arm (42) to counterbalance the weight placed on the surface (32). A cam system (44, 46) cooperating between the distal ends of the pivotable arms (42) and the support assemblies (26) serves to compensate for the changing spring force on the arms by varying the effective moment arms of the arms (42) thereby equalizing the force on each support assembly through its complete range of vertical travel.

Une structure support de charge à hauteur réglable (20) comporte un cadre de base (22) et une surface d'appui (32) de forme générale plane. De préférence, deux ensembles supports (26) extensibles en direction verticale supportent la surface (32), de façon à permettre son déplacement vertical relatif par rapport au cadre de base (22). Chaque ensemble support (26) entre en contact avec un bras pivotant (42) sollicité par un ressort, de façon à contrebalancer le poids placé à la surface (32). Un système de cames (44, 46), coopérant entre les extrémités distales des bras pivotants (42) et les ensembles supports (26), permet de compenser la force de ressort variable exercée sur les bras en faisant varier les bras de moment efficaces des bras (42), ce qui égalise la force exercée sur chaque ensemble support durant l'ensemble de ses déplacements verticaux.
