Abstract:
(EN) The invented method and system for enabling and controlling telephony over existing networks, e.g. ATM networks, the Internet or other data networks, uses essentially distributed control processing employing intelligence in the typical end-user devices, e.g. workstations or personal computers. Parallel use of a real-time channel (to provide the needed direct voice communication) and a control channel (for basic services like connection buildup and termination and for supplementary services) essentially established by and from the users's workstations (and in principle excluding the PBXs) allows implementation of practically any imaginable function.
(FR) On décrit un procédé ainsi qu'un système permettant et commandant la téléphonie sur des réseaux existants, par exemple des réseaux MTA, l'Internet ou d'autres réseaux de transmission de données, dans lesquels on utilise essentiellement un traitement à commande répartie mettant en oeuvre un système intelligent dans des dispositifs classiques d'utilisateurs finaux, par exemple des postes de travail ou des ordinateurs personnels. Un usage parallèle d'un canal de transmission en temps réel (afin de fournir la communication vocale directe voulue) et d'un canal de commande (pour des services de base, tels que l'établissement et la terminaison d'une connexion, et pour des services complémentaires), canaux essentiellement établis par les postes de travail des utilisateurs ou à partir de ces postes (à l'exclusion, en principe, des autocommutateurs privés), permet la mise en oeuvre de pratiquement toute fonction imaginable.
