A subscriber station (20) provides the wireless connection of user telecommunications equipment to a remote central station (10) of a wireless telecommunications system (1). The subscriber station includes a transmitter/receiver (24) for wireless communication with a central station and for processing signals for transmission and/or received signals, at least one telephone line (28) for connection to subscriber telecommunications equipment, and a high impedance test circuit (750) connected across a telephone line under test. The use of a high impedance test circuit means that the test circuit can effectively be connected permanently across a telephone line under test. By effectively connecting the high impedance test circuit permanently across the telephone line under test, that is connecting the test circuit across the telephone line during all operational conditions of the telephone line, the test circuit is able to provide a range of test functions, including self-test functions in a cost effective manner, which would not be possible with the conventional test circuits which are only switched in during line testing.

Un poste d'abonné (20) assure la connexion sans fil d'un équipement de télécommunication utilisateur avec un poste central distant (10) d'un système de télécommunication sans fil (1). Le poste d'abonné comprend un émetteur/récepteur (24) pour la communication sans fil avec un poste central et pour le traitement de signaux à transmettre et/ou de signaux reçus, au moins une ligne téléphonique (28) connectée à l'équipement de télécommunication de l'abonné, et un circuit de test de haute impédance (750) connecté à un ligne téléphonique testée. L'utilisation de ce circuit de test de haute impédance signifie que ce circuit peut être effectivement connecté en permanence à une ligne téléphonique en cours de test. En connectant effectivement le circuit de test de haute impédance de manière permanente à une ligne téléphonique testée, c'est-à-dire en connectant le circuit de test à la ligne téléphonique dans toutes les conditions de fonctionnement de la ligne téléphonique, le circuit de test peut assurer toute une gamme de fonctions test, y compris des fonctions auto-test de manière économique, ce qui ne serait pas possible avec les circuits test classiques qui ne sont branchés que pendant que la ligne est testée.
