Abstract

A method and apparatus for employing negative feedback in a signal processing system to improve the range of signal levels that can be processed is disclosed. First, a feedback signal is subtracted from an input signal to form a difference signal. The difference signal is then analyzed to resolve the difference signal into a number of constituent error components of reduced bandwidth. The error components are then used to refine estimation of corresponding reduced bandwidth constituents of the input signal. The estimates are then used to produce the feedback signals.

Procédé et dispositif faisant appel au retour négatif dans un système de traitement de signaux pour améliorer la plage des niveaux de signaux pouvant être traités. Dans un premier temps, un signal de retour est soustrait d'un signal d'entrée pour obtenir un signal de différence. Ce signal de différence est ensuite analysé pour être résolu en un certain nombre de composantes d'erreur constitutive de largeur de bande réduite. Les composantes d'erreur sont ensuite utilisées pour affiner l'estimation des constituantes correspondantes de largeur de bande réduite du signal d'entrée. Les estimations sont ensuite utilisées pour produire les signaux de retour.
