The present invention is a particulate collection and disposal unit (20) for use in the filtration unit of an air handling system, such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, which can be cleared of collected particulate without turning off the air flow through the filtration unit. Specifically, the particulate collection and disposal unit (20) comprises two adjacent drawers (54, 53) at the base of the filtration unit capable of collecting particulate that separates from the air flow passing through the filtration unit. A plate (50) is configured to rotate between two positions: a first position where it covers the opening of the first drawer (54) communicating with the filtration unit, and a second position where it covers the opening of the second drawer (53) communicating with the filtration unit. Accordingly, when the plate is in its first position, particulate separating from the air flow falls into the second drawer. When the second drawer becomes filled, the plate can be placed in its second position, thus covering the second drawer allowing for the particulate to now fall into the first drawer and for safe removal of the second drawer for the appropriate disposal of the particulate. Other embodiments of the invention contemplate a plate (50) covering a single drawer and structure to automatically remove particulate from the filtration unit such as a screw member (103) or a paddle structure (123) which can push particulate into a container external to the filtration unit.

La présente invention concerne un appareil (20) de captation et évacuation de particules destiné à être utilisé dans l'équipement de filtration d'un système de traitement de l'air, tel qu'un système de chauffage, ventilation et climatisation (CVC), ledit appareil pouvant être débarrassé des particules captées sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'arrêter l'écoulement d'air qui passe au travers de l'équipement de filtration. L'appareil (20) de captation et évacuation de particules comprend, plus précisément, deux tiroirs contigus (54, 53) situés à la base de l'équipement de filtration et capables de capter les particules qui se séparent de l'écoulement d'air qui passe au travers de l'équipement de filtration. Un plateau (50) est placé de manière à pivoter entre deux positions: une première position dans laquelle il recouvre l'ouverture du premier tiroir (54) qui communique avec l'équipement de filtration de l'air, et une deuxième position dans laquelle il recouvre l'ouverture d'un second tiroir (54) qui communique avec l'équipement de filtration de l'air.
