Um eine hohe Oberflächengüte beim Zerspanen zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, die Nebenschneide (14), an die eine ebene Freifläche (19) angrenzt, konvex gewölbt auszugestalten.

Described is a cutter insert (10) for machining workpieces, the blade having at least one main cutting edge (13) for roughing the workpiece and, adjacent to it, an auxiliary cutting edge (14) for finishing the workpiece. In order to ensure high surface quality when machining, the invention proposes that the auxiliary cutting edge (14) is designed in the shape of a convex curve bordered by a planar flank (19).

Plaquette de coupe (10) permettant d'usiner une pièce par enlèvement de copeaux, comportant au moins un bord de coupe principal (13) pour le dégrossissage, et un bord de coupe auxiliaire (14) raccordé au bord de coupe principal pour le finissage. Afin d'obtenir une excellente qualité de surface lors de l'usinage, il est proposé de donner une forme convexe au bord de coupe auxiliaire (14) adjacent à une face de dépouille plane (19).
