Abstract

An underwater communications device (10), wherein each device includes: a signal receiver, a signal transmitter, a transducer (12) associated with the signal receiver and with the signal transmitter, and having a first field of view; a controller for operating the signal receiver and the signal transmitter in at least first and second operative modes, wherein in the first mode, the transducer (12) is operative to receive output signals from the signal transmitter and to transmit output signals to the second device; a mode selector, associated with the controller, for selecting modes of operation; and selectably operable signal blocking apparatus (14) having a second field of view, and associated with the transducer (12), for blocking signals emanating from the second device from outside the second field of view, thereby to prevent their impinging on the transducer (12).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de communication sous-marine (10) un tel dispositif étant doté des équipements suivants: un récepteur; un émetteur; un transducteur (12) associé au récepteur et à l'émetteur et ayant un premier champ de perception; un régisseur, pour le fonctionnement du récepteur et de l'émetteur au moins dans un premier mode et un second mode de fonctionnement; dans le premier mode, le transducteur (12) reçoit les signaux de sortie émanant de l'émetteur et fournit à l'autre dispositif les signaux de sortie en question; un sélecteur de mode, associé au régisseur, pour choisir le mode de fonctionnement; et un dispositif de blocage des signaux modulables (14), ayant un second champ de perception, et associé au transducteur (12) pour le blocage des signaux émanant de l'autre dispositif, en dehors du second champ de perception, ce qui évite leur injection dans le transducteur (12).
