The invention relates to a data transmission method and equipment for encoding and decoding a signal, comprising on the encoding side at least two parallel encoders (600, 602) and on the decoding side at least two parallel decoders (770, 702). In order to provide efficient coding, on the encoding side of the equipment each parallel encoder (600, 602) comprises a number of registers (612a - 618a) connected in tandem, and a number of adding means (622a - 626a) that add the outputs of the registers (612a - 618a) to the data, and a mapping means (628a) the input of which consists of the outputs of the registers (612a - 618a) and the ouput (608) of which comprises a Walsh symbol selected on the basis of imputs of a converter means (628a), and on the decoding side of the equipment the input (704, 706) of each parallel decoder (700, 702) is the received Walsh symbol and the reliability information (718, 720) about the symbol decision, received from the other parallel decoders.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de transmission de données ainsi qu'à un équipement de codage et de décodage d'un signal comportant, au niveau codage, au moins deux codeurs parallèles (600, 602) et au niveau décodage au moins deux décodeurs parallèles (700, 702). De façon à assurer un codage efficace, au niveau de la partie codage de l'équipement, chaque codeur parallèle (600, 602) comporte un certain nombre de registres (612a - 618a) reliés en tandem, et un certain nombre d'organes additionneurs (622a - 626a) qui additionnent les sorties des registres (612a - 618a) aux données, de même qu'un organe de mise en correspondance (628a) dont l'entrée est constituée des sorties des registres (612a - 618a) et dont la sortie (608) comporte un symbole de Walsh sélectionné en fonction des entrées d'un organe convertisseur (628a); au niveau de la partie décodage de l'équipement, l'entrée (704, 706) de chaque décodeur parallèle (700, 702) est constituée du symbole de Walsh reçu et des informations de fiabilité (718, 720) relatives à la décision liée au symbole, reçues des autres décodeurs parallèles.
