Abstract

A device (10) for holding a sample to be spectroscopically analyzed retains the sample within a defined area. The device includes a receiving means (14) on which the sample is held. When this receiving means is mounted in a frame (12) (an optional feature), it extends across an aperture in the frame (13). In/on the receiving means is a sample confining means (16) that keeps any sample placed on the receiving means from migrating outside a defined area (18). By keeping the sample within a defined area, quantitative measurements of the sample can be obtained.

Un dispositif (10) permettant de tenir un échantillon en vue de son analyse spectroscopique retient l'échantillon dans les limites d'une zone définie. Le dispositif comprend un élément de réception (14) sur lequel est tenu l'échantillon. Lorsque cet élément récepteur est monté dans un cadre (12) (en option), il traverse un orifice (13) ménagé dans le cadre. Un moyen de confinement (16) de l'échantillon est placé dans/sur l'élément de réception et empêche tout échantillon placé sur l'élément de réception de sortir d'une zone définie (18). En maintenant l'échantillon à l'intérieur de la zone définie, des mesures quantitatives de l'échantillon peuvent être obtenues.
