The invention provides a process of separating minerals from a mineral-containing material by froth flotation comprising forming an aqueous pulp of particles of the mineral-containing material, subjecting the pulp to flotation in the presence of one or more dialkyl thionocarbamate collectors, allowing preferential separation of the particles in the pulp to occur to form Reject and Accept fractions and separating the Reject and Accept fractions. In this process dialkyl thionocarbamate collector is added to the mineral-containing material or pulp in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion comprising dialkyl thionocarbamate collector in an amount of 5 to 95 wt.%, emulsifier in an amount of 1 to 30 wt.% and water in an amount of 5 to 95 wt.%. The dialkyl thionocarbamate emulsion is also a novel product.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé permettant d'extraire, par flottation par mousse, certains minéraux de matières contenant différents types de minéraux. Ledit procédé consiste à former une pulpe minerai-eau avec des particules de la matière contenant les minéraux, à soumettre ladite pulpe à une flottation en présence d'un ou de plusieurs collecteurs composés de dialkyle thionocarbamate, en favorisant une extraction préférentielle des particules qui produise une fraction rejetée et une fraction acceptée, puis à séparer la fraction rejetée de la fraction acceptée. Selon ledit procédé, on ajoute à la matière contenant les minéraux ou à la pulpe un collecteur de dialkyle thionocarbamate sous la forme d'une émulsion aqueuse comportant de 5 à 95 % en poids d'un collecteur de dialkyle thionocarbamate, de 1 à 30 % en poids d'un émulsifiant et de 5 à 95 % en poids d'eau. Cette émulsion de dialkyle thionocarbamate est également un produit nouveau.
