A system and method for optimizing the performance, in a multichannel optical transmission system, of an optical signal regenerator, by compensating for input signal power fluctuation and for output signal gain change, and by mildly filtering individual wavelengths between gain block stages. A system and method to provide amplification and refinement of a bidirectional optical signal in a single amplification and refinement stage.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant d'optimaliser les performances, dans un système de transmission optique à canaux multiples, d'un régénérateur de signaux optiques. Pour ce faire, on compense les fluctuations de la puissance du signal d'entrée et les variations de gain du signal de sortie et on filtre légèrement les différentes longueurs d'onde entre les étages-blocs de gain. L'invention concerne aussi un système et un procédé donnant une amplification et un affinement d'un signal optique bidirectionnel dans un seul étage d'amplification et d'affinement.
