(EN)This invention provides methods and compositions useful for modulating synaptic transmission. The compositions of this invention are complexes comprised of various combinations of proteins, such as tagmin, $g(b)-SNAP, NSF, $g(a)-SNAP, and SNAREs involved in docking and fusion of synaptic vesicles to membranes. In addition, this invention relates to complexes of tagmin and special phospholipids (phosphatidyl inositols) which are a component of membranes involved in the secretory process. These complexes are useful for identifying other substances which may modulate synaptic transmission.
(FR)L'invention concerne des procédés et des compositions qui contribuent à moduler la transmission synaptique. Les compositions décrites sont des complexes à base de combinaisons diverses de protéines (par exemple, tagmine, protéine de fusion sensible à N-éthylmaléimide (NSF), protéines solubles d'attachement de NSF ($g(b)-SNAP, $g(a)-SNAP) et récepteurs de SNAP (SNARE)) intervenant dans la jonction et la fusion des vésicules synaptiques aux membranes. On décrit par ailleurs des complexes à base de tagmine et de phospholipides spécifiques (phosphatidyl inositols) et qui entrent dans la composition des membranes impliquées dans le processus de secrétion.
