Abstract:
(EN) A liquid drug delivery device (40) is adapted to be adhered to the skin of a subject by a base member (49) defining a skin-contacting surface (50) having an adhesive coating. A columnar cartridge (48) serves as reservoir for the drug and is incorporated in a housing which is connected to the base member (49) such that in use the longitudinal axis of the cartridge (48) is disposed substantially parallel to the skin-contacting surface (50). A delivery needle communicating in use with the interior of the cartridge (48) penetrates the skin of the subject when the housing snaps downward relative to the base member (49). This action also causes the actuation of a citric acid (42)/sodium bicarbonate (43) gas generator which generates a gas to move a piston (41) within the cartridge (48), compressing the drug compartment. This compression causes a stopper to be penetrated by a conduit in communication with the delivery needle, allowing the drug to be ejected from the compartment through the needle and into the subcutaneous tissue of the subject.
(FR) Ce dispositif d'administration de médicament liquide (40) est conçu pour venir adhérer à la peau d'un sujet par un élément de base (49) définissant une surface (50) en contact avec la peau, ayant un revêtement adhésif. Une cartouche cylindrique (48) sert de réservoir pour le médicament et cette cartouche est incorporée dans un logement relié à l'élément de base (49), de sorte que, au moment de l'utilisation, l'axe longitudinal de la cartouche (48) se trouve pratiquement parallèle à la surface (50) en contact avec la peau. Une aiguille d'administration qui, au moment de l'utilisation, communique avec l'intérieur de la cartouche (48) pénètre dans la peau du sujet, lorsque le logement est poussé par déclic vers l'arrière par rapport à l'élément de base (49). Ce mouvement entraîne également l'actionnement d'un générateur de gaz à acide citrique (42)/bicarbonate de sodium (43), qui produit un gaz déplaçant un piston (41) à l'intérieur de la cartouche (48), ce qui comprime le compartiment à médicament. A la suite de cette compression, un conduit communiquant avec l'aiguille d'administration pénètre dans un bouchon, ce qui permet au médicament d'être éjecté du compartiment, traversant ainsi l'aiguille pour être injecté dans les tissus sous-cutanés du sujet.
