Abstract:
(EN) The Internet is used for both speech and data communication. A terminal is based around a personal computer (1). The terminal also includes a handset (3) which houses a microphone (5), a loudspeaker (7), a card reader (9) and a data encryption circuit for encrypting data read from a card by the card reader (9). The personal computer (1) is programmed to enable speech communication with a remote station using the handset (3) and to transmit encrypted data, read from a card, to the remote station. In another embodiment, the role of the personal computer (1) is taken by a custom base unit.
(FR) Le réseau Internet est prévu tant pour la transmission de données que pour la communication vocale. Un terminal s'articule autour d'un ordinateur personnel (1). Ce terminal comprend, également, un combiné téléphonique (3) dans lequel sont logés un microphone (5), un haut-parleur (7), un lecteur de carte (9) et un circuit de codage des données pour coder les données lues à partir d'une carte par le lecteur de carte (9). L'ordinateur personnel (1) est programmé pour permettre la communication vocale à partir d'un poste à distance à l'aide du combiné (3) et pour transmettre les données codées, lues à partir d'une carte, au poste à distance. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le rôle de l'ordinateur personnel (1) est assuré par un centre émetteur-récepteur personnalisé.
