Abstract:
(EN) A nickel hydroxide active material for alkaline storage battery which has a high charging efficiency at high temperatures and a high capacity density and a nickel plate electrode using the active material are disclosed. The nickel hydroxide active material contains 10-40 mol % of Mn with respect to the total amount of metallic ions and is made substantially of $g(b)-type nickel hydroxide. The X-ray diffraction pattern of this active material observed using K$g(a) rays of Cu has a peak PA having a peak top in the range of 5°-14° of angle of diffraction 2$g(u) and a peak PB having a peak top in the range of 18°-20.5°. The relative integrated intensity ratio between the peaks is less than 1/2. The nickel positive electrode contains the above-mentioned active material and a compound, such as Y2O3 to raise the oxygen producing potential.
(FR) Cette invention un matériau actif à base d'hydroxyde de nickel pour batterie alcaline de stockage, lequel matériau possède une grande efficacité de charge à des températures élevées, ainsi qu'une densité de capacité élevée. Cette invention concerne également une électrode de type plaque de nickel faisant appel à ce matériau actif. Ce matériau actif à base de nickel comprend de 10 à 40 % en moles de Mn par rapport à la quantité totale d'ions métalliques, et se compose essentiellement d'hydroxyde de nickel de type $g(b). Le diagramme de diffraction des rayons X de ce matériau actif, observé à l'aide de rayons K$g(a) de Cu, possède un pic PA dont le sommet varie entre 5 et 14° de l'angle de diffraction 2$g(u), ainsi qu'un pic P B dont le sommet varie entre 18 et 20,5°. Le rapport d'intensité intégrée relative entre les pics est inférieur à 1/2. L'électrode positive à base de nickel comprend le matériau actif susmentionné, ainsi qu'un composé tel que du Y2O3 afin d'accroître le potentiel de production d'oxygène.
