Abstract:
(EN) A chromatographic method and device for separating one or several organic substances in a liquid sample. According to the method said sample of substances is passed through a chromatographic device containing as separation medium at least one continous macroporous matrix. The macroporous matrix comprises a cross-linked organic polymer prepared by polymerisation of a high internal phase emulsion system of a water-in-oil emulsion of organic monomers, said emulsion containing at least 75 % by weight of water phase. The polymerisation results in an open porous structure, to allow a convective flow to pass through the macroporous matrix, whereby said organic substances separate from each other and/or the liquid. The pores of the macroporous matrix are unmodified, or surface modified in a manner that the convective flow is not hampered.
(FR) Procédé et appareil de chromatographie permettant de séparer une ou plusieurs substances organiques contenues dans un échantillon de liquide. Selon ce procédé, on fait passer ledit échantillon de substances dans un appareil de chromatographie contenant comme support de séparation au moins une matrice organique macroporeuse continue. Celle-ci comprend un polymère organique réticulé préparé par polymérisation d'un système d'émulsion en phase hautement dispersée constitué d'une émulsion eau dans huile de monomères organiques, et contenant au moins 75 % en poids de phase aqueuse. La polymérisation entraîne la formation d'une structure poreuse ouverte permettant à un flux convectif de traverser la matrice macroporeuse, au niveau de laquelle lesdites substances organiques se séparent les unes des autres et/ou du liquide. Les pores de la matrice macroporeuse ne sont pas modifiés, ou bien sont modifiés superficiellement de manière à ne pas entraver le flux convectif.
