Abstract:
(EN) An engine (1) has first and second cylinder groups (1a and 1b). The first cylinder group (1a) is connected to a three way (TW) catalyst (8a). The second group (1b) and the TW catalyst (8a) are connected, via an interconnecting duct (13) to an NH3 adsorbing and oxidizing (NH3-AO) catalyst (14a). The first group (1a) performs the rich operation, and the second group (1b) performs the lean operation. In the TW catalyst (8a), NOx exhausted from the first group (1a) is converted to NH3, and the NH3 reduces the NOx exhausted from the second group (1b) in the NH3-AO catalyst (14a). An NOx occluding and reducing (NOx-OR) catalyst (11a) is arranged in the exhaust passage between the second group (1b) and the interconnecting duct (13), to thereby suppress the NOx amount flowing into the NH3-AO catalyst (14a).
(FR) Selon cette invention, un moteur (1) possède un premier (1a) et un second (1b) groupe de cylindres. Le premier groupe de cylindres (1a) est connecté à un catalyseur (8a) à trois voies. Le second groupe (1b) et le catalyseur (8a) sont connectés par l'intermédiaire d'une conduite de connexion (13) à un catalyseur (14a) d'adsorption et d'oxydation de NH3 (NH3-AO). Le premier groupe (1a) fonctionne en mode 'riche', tandis que le second groupe fonctionne en mode 'pauvre'. Dans le catalyseur (8a), le NOx évacué du premier groupe (1a) est transformé en NH3, le NH3 réduisant le NOx évacué du second groupe (1b) dans le catalyseur NH3-AO (14a). Un catalyseur (11a) d'absorption et de réduction de NOx (NOx-OR) est disposé dans le passage d'échappement entre le second groupe (1b) et la conduite de connexion (13) de manière à supprimer la quantité de NOx s'écoulant dans le catalyseur NH3-AO (14a).
