Abstract:
(EN) A method for making optionally actinide-doped monazite compounds, a method for conditioning actinide- and lanthanide-enriched radioactive waste by incorporating the waste into a monazite-based confinement matrix, and a radioactive waste conditioning block including a monazite matrix containing radioactive elements, are disclosed. The method comprises mixing solid-phase reagents including an inactive lanthanide metaphosphate compound having formula Ln(PO3)3 and one or more lanthanide oxides and/or one or more actinide oxides, or one or more compounds capable of producing said oxide(s) during the reaction sintering heat treatment, shaping the resulting mixture, and reaction sintering the shaped mixture, whereby monazite or a monazite compound is achieved.
(FR) L'invention a trait à un procédé de fabrication de composés de type monazite dopés ou non en actinides, à un procédé de conditionnement de déchets radioactifs riches en actinides et en lanthanides par incorporation de ces déchets dans une matrice de confinement à base de monazite et à un bloc de conditionnement de déchets radioactifs comprenant une matrice de monazite contenant des éléments radioactifs. Ce procédé comprend le mélange en phase solide des réactifs comprenant un composé de type métaphosphate de lanthanide inactif de formule Ln(PO3)3 et un ou plusieurs oxyde(s) de lanthanide et/ou un ou plusieurs oxyde(s) d'actinide; ou un ou plusieurs composé(s) susceptible(s) de donner cet ou ces oxyde(s) lors du traitement thermique de frittage réaction; la mise en forme du mélange ainsi obtenu, et le frittage réaction dudit mélange mis en forme, moyennant quoi une monazite ou composé de type monazite est obtenu.
