Abstract:
(EN) A proximity sensor system includes a sensor matrix array having a characteristic capacitance on horizontal and vertical conductors connected to sensor pads. The capacitance changes as a function of the proximity of an object to the sensor matrix. The change in capacitance of each node in both the X and Y directions of the matrix due to the approach of an object is converted to a set of voltages in the X and Y directions. These voltages are processed by circuitry to develop electrical signals representative of the centroid of the profile of the object, i.e., its position in the X and Y dimensions. Noise reduction and background level setting techniques inherently available in the architecture are employed. Pressure information is used to modify the scrolling speed.
(FR) Système de capteurs de proximité comprenant une matrice de capteurs ayant une capacité caractéristique sur des conducteurs horizontaux et verticaux raccordés aux plots des capteurs. La capacité varie en fonction de la proximité d'un objet par rapport à la matrice de capteurs. La variation de capacité de chaque noeud dans les sens X et Y de la matrice due à l'approche d'un objet est transformée en un ensemble de tensions dans les sens X et Y. Ces tensions sont traitées par des circuits qui génèrent des signaux électriques représentatifs du centre de gravité du profil de l'objet, c.-à-d. sa position dans les axes X et Y. Les techniques de réglage du niveau de bruit de fond et de réduction de bruit sont celles que l'on utilise déjà au niveau de l'architecture du système. La modification de la vitesse de défilement est régie par les données de pression.
