Abstract:
(EN) A jet engine thrust reverser comprising clamshells (16) that are integrated into the outer wall of the jet engine exhaust duct in the direct thrust position and form gas flow deflecting buckets in the deployed position to provide thrust reversal. The clamshells (16) are pivotably mounted about shafts (19) supported on stationary side beams (10) that also support a motion control system (20). The beams (10) are broad, the ratio of the beam width to the exhaust outlet length is of at least 0.60, and said shafts (19) are located at the centre of pressure of the inner wall (17) of each clamshell, so that said clamshells (16) are stable in the undeployed position and have a tendency to balance towards the closed position.
(FR) Un inverseur de poussée de turboréacteur comporte des coquilles (16) intégrées à la paroi externe du canal d'éjection du turboréacteur en position de poussée directe et constituant en position déployée des obstacles de déviation du flux des gaz en procurant une inversion de poussée. Les coquilles (16) sont montées pivotantes autour d'axes (19) portés par des poutres latérales fixes (10) qui supportent également un système de commande (20) des déplacements. Les poutres (10) sont larges, le rapport de la largeur de poutre sur la longueur de sortie d'éjection étant au moins de 0,60 et lesdits axes (19) sont situés au centre de poussée de la paroi interne (17) de chaque coquille, de manière à assurer une position non déployée stable des coquilles (16) qui ont une tendance à l'équilibrage vers l'auto-fermeture.
