Abstract:
(EN) This invention is directed to an air-charging system for a four-cycle internal combustion engine (54, 66, 74, 90) wherein an exhaust gas-driven turbocharger (56, 156, 76, 96, 196) is connected to the exhaust and inlet air of the engine (54, 66, 74, 90). An electric motor-driven compressor (62, 68, 84, 114) has its outlet connected either to the inlet or outlet of the air compressor section of the turbocharger (56, 156, 76, 96, 196) to increase the amount of air in the parallel connection or increase the pressure inthe series connection. The use of an electric motor-driven compressor (62, 68, 84, 114) increases engine acceleration and decreases engine back pressure and unburned fuel.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un dispositif à air de suralimentation destiné à un moteur à combustion interne à quatre temps (54, 66, 74, 90), dans lequel un turbocompresseur (56, 156, 76, 96, 196) actionné par les gaz d'échappement est relié aux orifices d'admission et d'échappement d'air du moteur (54, 66, 74, 90). Un compresseur (62, 68, 84, 114) actionné par moteur électrique a son orifice de sortie relié soit à l'orifice d'entrée soit à l'orifice de sortie de la partie conçue pour la compression d'air du turbocompresseur (56, 156, 76, 96, 196) dans le but d'accroître la quantité d'air dans le montage en parallèle et d'augmenter la pression dans le montage en série. L'utilisation d'un compresseur (62, 68, 84, 114) actionné par moteur électrique permet d'une part d'augmenter l'accélération du moteur et d'autre part de réduire la contre-pression du moteur de même que les imbrûlés.
