Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a composition being an aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane in water, said composition comprising water and the reaction product of (a) a water-dispersible isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer having an isocyanate content of between 1 and 15 % by weight. The prepolymer comprises the following: an organic polyisocyanate adduct mixture having an average isocyanate functionality of between 2.0 and 4.0, and (b) an isocyanate reactive chain extender having a specified ratio of isocyanate reactive moiety to isocyanate index of the polyisocyanate adduct mixture. The polyisocyanate mixture must contain some dimer; however, other polyisocyanates, such as diisocyanates and polyisocyanate trimers, are advantageously added to the mixture. Also disclosed is a process for preparing this composition, and a method for coating a substrate with the composition.
(FR) L'invention concerne une composition qui est une dispersion aqueuse d'un polyuréthanne dans l'eau comprenant de l'eau et le produit de réaction de (a) un prépolymère terminé par un isocyanate dispersible dans l'eau, ayant une teneur en isocyanate comprise entre 1 et 15 % en poids. Le prépolymère comprend les composants suivants: un mélange adjuvant de polyisocyanate organique ayant une fonctionnalité isocyanate moyenne comprise entre 2,0 et 4,0, et (b) un allongeur de chaîne réagissant à l'isocyanate ayant un rapport spécifié entre le groupe réactif à l'isocyanate et l'index en isocyanate du mélange adjuvant de polyisocyanate. Le mélange de polyisocyanate doit contenir quelques dimères, mais d'autres isocyanates, tels que des diisocyanates et des trimères de polyisocyanates, peuvent lui être avantageusement ajoutés. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation de cette composition et un procédé de placage d'un substrat avec ladite composition.
