Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to a thermally stable polyester, comprising: a polyester resin prepared by adding a dicarboxylic acid to a glycol compound, said dicarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids having a total of from 3 to 16 carbon atoms, alicyclic dicarboxylic acids having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, aromatic dicarboxylic acids containing a total of from 8 to 16 carbon atoms, and combinations thereof, and wherein said glycol is selected from the group consisting of glycols having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms, glycol ethers having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms, and combinations thereof, said polyester resin having been prepared in the presence of a catalyst system consisting essentially of one or more antimony compounds which is not reacted with $g(a)-hydroxy carboxylic acids, $g(a),$g(b)-dicarboxylic acids or derivatives thereof.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un polyester thermiquement stable comprenant: une résine polyester obtenue en ajoutant un acide dicarboxylique à un composé glycol, cet acide dicarboxylique étant sélectionné dans le groupe constitué d'acides dicarboxyliques aliphatiques ayant un total de 3 à 16 atomes de carbone, d'acides dicarboxyliques alicycliques ayant de 7 à 12 atomes de carbone, d'acides dicarboxyliques aromatiques contenant un total de 8 à 16 atomes de carbone, et des combinaisons de ceux-ci. Le glycol est sélectionné dans le groupe constitué de glycols ayant de 2 à 12 atomes de carbone, d'éthers glycol ayant de 4 à 12 atomes de carbone et des combinaisons de ceux-ci. Cette résine polyester a été préparée en présence d'un système catalyseur constitué principalement d'au moins un composé antimonique qui n'a pas réagi avec les acides $(a)-hydroxy carboxyliques, les acides $g(a),$g(b)-dicarboxyliques ou des dérivés de ceux-ci.
