Abstract:
(EN) A ceramic composition produced by the consolidation of a blend of starting components. The composition comprises a matrix with one or more of the carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides of hafnium, molybdenum, zirconium, tantalum, niobium, vanadium, tungsten and titanium, and solid solutions thereof in an amount that is greater than 50 volume percent of the matrix. The matrix comprises between 60 and 99.8 volume percent of the composition. Ceramic whiskers are uniformly dispersed throughout the matrix wherein the ceramic whiskers comprises between 0.2 and 40 volume percent of the composition.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une composition céramique produite par le renforcement d'un mélange de composants de départ. Cette composition comprend une matrice constituée d'un ou de plusieurs des sels suivants: carbures, nitrures et carbonitrures de hafnium, molybdène, zirconium, tantale, niobium, vanadium, tungstène et titane, ainsi que de solutions solides de ces sels en une proportion n'excédant pas 50 % du volume de la matrice. Cette composition représente 60 % à 99,8 % du volume de la matrice. La trichite de céramique, qui est uniformément dispersée dans la matrice, constitue de 0,2 % à 40 % du volume de la composition.
