Abstract:
(EN) A catheter (21) for introducing fluid into the vascular system includes ports (33) in the catheter's sidewall which are obliquely angled with respect to the longitudinal axis (30) of the catheter. Certain pairs of ports are oriented toward each other, and certain other pairs of ports are oriented away from each other. The arrangement of ports causes fluid to exit the ports in streams which are oriented at oblique angles corresponding to the angles of the port. The obliquely angled streams create advantageous circulation paths proximate to the catheter which generally improve efficacy of the injected fluid associated with the medical application. The catheter may be used for a variety of purposes, including to perform thrombolysis.
(FR) Une sonde (21) destinée à l'introduction de liquide dans le système vasculaire comporte des orifices obliques (33) dans la paroi latérale. Certains de ces orifices, pris deux par deux, sont dirigés l'un vers l'autre; pour d'autres, c'est le contraire. La disposition de ces orifices fait que le liquide en sort sous la forme de filets orientés obliquement, sous des angles correspondant à ceux des orifices. Ces filets obliques créent des parcours de circulation avantageux, près de la sonde, qui améliorent d'une manière générale l'efficacité du liquide injecté, qui est associé au traitement médical. Cette sonde peut être utilisée à différentes fins, y compris pour exécuter une thrombolyse.
