Abstract:
(EN) A catheter system (12) has a balloon angioplasty device (65) disposed about a common lumen (60) near its distal end. The balloon catheter (12) is pre-fitted with a stent (90) which is deployed when the balloon (65) is inflated. The common lumen (60) is in communication with multiple lumens (23, 25, 27) within a proximal region (15) of the catheter body (12) to allow for positioning of the catheter (12) over a movable guide wire and convenient delivery of imaging of interventional devices to a desired region of a body passageway being treated. The procedure for stent (90) deployment optionally includes steps of imaging a lumen by ultrasound (75) before and after stent (90) deployment to identify the site at which a stent (90) is needed, to confirm that the stent (90) is being and has been deployed at a longitudinal position which does not overlap a branched segment of the body passageway, and to ensure that the stent (90) has been radially opened to an optimum diameter.
(FR) Ce système de cathéter (12) comporte un dispositif d'angioplastie transluminale (65) par ballonnet, placé sur une lumière commune (60) à proximité de son extrémité distale. Le cathéter à ballonnet (12) est pré-équipé d'un extenseur (90) qui est déployé lorsque le ballonnet (65) est gonflé. La lumière commune (60) communique avec des lumières multiples (23, 25, 27) situées à l'intérieur de la région proximale (15) du corps du cathéter (12), ce qui permet le positionnement du cathéter (12) sur un fil-guide mobile et l'imagerie appropriée pour visualiser des dispositifs d'intervention par rapport à la région voulue d'un passage du corps en cours de traitement. La procédure de déploiement de l'extenseur (90) consiste éventuellement à explorer par imagerie ultrasonore (75) une lumière avant et après le déploiement de l'extenseur (90), ce qui permet d'identifier le site dans lequel ledit extenseur (90) est nécessaire et de confirmer le fait que l'extenseur (90) est en cours de déploiement ou est déployé dans une position longitudinale qui ne chevauche pas un segment ramifié du passage dudit corps et que l'ouverture radiale de l'extenseur (90) est optimale.
