Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus for use in a pipeline (1) is disclosed. The apparatus has a housing (3) through which pipeline fluids may enter from the rear of the housing (3), pass through the housing (3) and subsequently exit from the housing (3). A first bonnet (77), having several openings (78, 79), is mounted at the front of the housing (3) on a shaft (66) which is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing (3). A second bonnet (82) is mounted on the housing (3) and fits over the first bonnet (77). The second bonnet (82) has openings (83, 84) which, when aligned with the openings (78, 79) in the first bonnet (77), permit the flow of pipeline fluid out of the housing (3) in various directions. The first bonnet (77) is movable in relation to the second bonnet (82) so as to vary the degree of alignment of the openings (78, 79, 83, 84) in the bonnets (77, 82). By varying the degree of alignment of the openings (78, 79, 83, 84) in the bonnets (77, 82), the flow of fluids through the housing (3) is regulated so as to control the speed of the apparatus. Although the bonnets (77, 82) may be of various shapes, the provision of openings (78, 79, 83, 84) on the surfaces of the bonnets (77, 82), which are contiguous with the outer surface of the housing (3) adjacent the exit opening, permits the exit of pipeline fluids radially from the housing (3). Accordingly, more pipeline fluid may be permitted to bypass the pig (2) and the speed of the pig (2) may be varied more substantially than has previously been known.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil destiné à être utilisé dans un pipeline (1). Cet appareil possède un logement (3) à travers lequel les fluides du pipeline peuvent entrer depuis l'arrière dudit logement (3), passer à travers ledit logement (3) et ensuite sortir dudit logement (3). Un premier capot (77) possédant plusieurs ouvertures (78, 79) est monté à l'avant du logement (3) sur un arbre (66) orienté parallèlement à l'axe de la longueur du logement (3). Un deuxième capot (82) est monté sur le logement (3) et s'adapte sur le premier capot (77). Ce deuxième capot (82) possède des ouvertures (83, 84) qui, quand elles sont alignées sur les ouvertures (78, 79) du premier capot (77), permettent l'écoulement du fluide du capot de sortir du logement (3) dans différentes directions. Le premier capot (77) est mobile par rapport au deuxième capot (82), de manière à modifier le degré d'alignement des ouvertures (78, 79, 83, 84) dans les capots (77, 82). La modification du degré d'alignement des ouvertures (78, 79, 83, 84) dans les capots (77, 82) permet de réguler l'écoulement des fluides à travers le logement (3), de façon à commander la vitesse de l'appareil. Bien que les capots (77, 82) puissent présenter différentes formes, la présence d'ouvertures (78, 79, 83, 84) sur les surfaces des capots (77, 82), contiguës à la surface extérieure du logement (3) elle-même contiguë à l'ouverture de sortie, permet la sortie des fluides du pipeline dans un sens radial depuis le logement (3). De ce fait, une quantité plus importante de fluide du logement peut être autorisée à effectuer une déviation par rapport au râcleur (2) et la vitesse du râcleur (2) peut être modifiée plus sensiblement qu'auparavant.
