Abstract:
(EN) A hot-melt adhesive composition based on ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer comprising not more than 35 % (preferably not more than 30 %, more preferably not more than 25 %) by weight, based on the whole composition, of halogen-free char-forming flame-retardant additive(s) in an amount at least sufficient to prevent flaming drips generated on burning of the adhesive from igniting the underlying absorbent cotton according to the 20mm Vertical Burn Test of Underwriters Laboratories Test Method UL-94 (1993), V-1, preferably V-0. Preferred halogen-free flame-retardant additives include ammonium phosphates, melamine cyanurate, zinc borate, and especially red phosphorus.
(FR) Composition thermofusible adhésive à base de copolymère éthylène/acétate de vinyle ne comprenant pas plus de 35 % (de préférence 30 %, et plus souhaitable 25 %) en poids, sur la base de la composition totale, d'additif(s) retardateur(s) de flammes, formant des produits charbonnés exempte(s) d'halogène dans une quantité au moins suffisante pour empêcher les jets brûlants générés lors de la combustion de l'adhésif d'amorcer la combustion du coton absorbant sous-jacent selon le test de combustion vertical de 20 mm de la Méthode d'Essai UL-94 d'Underwriters Laboratories (1993), V-1, de préférence V-0. Le additifs préférés retardateurs de flammes, exempts d'halogène, comprennent des phosphates d'ammonium, du cyanurate de mélamine, du borate de zinc et notamment du phosphore rouge.
