Abstract:
(EN) A superthermal insulation is produced by forming aerogels interstitially within a fiber matrix. The resulting composite structures, in which there are no fiber-fiber contacts, exhibit extremely low thermal conductivity, durability, engineerability, and, if desired, flexibility.
(FR) On parvient à une isolation superthermique par la constitution dans une matrice fibreuse d'aérogels disposés de manière interstitielle. Les structures composites qui en découlent, dans lesquelles il n'existe pas de contacts entre fibres, témoignent de qualités d'isolation thermique exceptionnelle, de durabilité, de machinabilité et, si désiré, de flexibilité.
