Abstract:
(EN) A sandwich skin construction (10) that is comprised of an internal structure (16) comprising a plurality of cones (12) disposed between two outer skins (14a) is disclosed. The interior contains a pressurized gas to give the resulting sandwich skin construction (10) added strength over a similarly constructed non-pressurized structure of the same material with an equivalent mass. Various attributes of the cones (12) can be adjusted, for example, size and angle, to optimize the performance of the sandwich skin construction (10) to a variety of external stresses. Moreover, a method is provided for manufacturing the sandwich skin construction (10). The structure can be placed in a pressurized environment before attaching the outer skins (14a).
(FR) L'invention porte sur une structure de coque en sandwich (10) consistant en une structure interne (16) pourvue de plusieurs cônes (12) disposés entre deux coques extérieures (14a). L'intérieur contient un gaz pressurisé afin de conférer à la structure de coque en sandwich (10) obtenue une résistance accrue par rapport à celle d'une structure construite de manière identique, à l'aide d'un même matériau et ayant la même masse, mais non pressurisée. Il est possible d'adapter diverses caractéristiques des cônes (12), leur taille et leur pente, par exemple, pour optimiser l'efficacité de ce type de structure de coque en sandwich (10) face à diverses contraintes extérieures. L'invention porte, de surcroît, sur un procédé de fabrication de cette structure de coque en sandwich (10). On peut placer cette structure dans un environnement pressurisé avant de fixer les coques extérieures.
