Abstract:
(EN) A compressor (90) includes a male rotor (42) which is axially aligned with and in communication with two female rotors (44, 46). The male rotor is driven by a motor (92), in other words the male rotor is the drive rotor. The male rotor has a plurality of lobes (48-55) which intermesh with a plurality of flutes (56-67) on each of the female rotors. The male rotor comprises an inner cylindrical metal shaft (82) with an outer composite material ring (84) mounted thereon. The ring includes the lobes of the male rotor integrally depending therefrom. The lobes of the male rotor being comprised of a composite material allows positioning of the female rotors at a small clearance from the male drive rotor. This clearance is small enough that the liquid refrigerant itself provides sufficient sealing, cooling and lubrication. The positioning of the female rotors on opposing sides of the male rotor balances the radial loading on the male rotor thereby minimizing radial bearing loads.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un compresseur (90) comportant un rotor mâle (42) aligné avec deux rotors femelles (44, 46) eux-même alignés axialement. Le rotor mâle est entraîné per un moteur, en d'autres termes, il est l'élément d'entraînement. Le rotor mâle comporte plusieurs bossages (48-55) qui engrènent dans une série de gorges (56-67) ménagées dans les rotors femelles; il comporte en outre un arbre cylindrique creux métallique (82) sur lequel est monté un anneau extérieur (84) de matériau composite dont les bossages du rotor mâle forment partie intégrante. Les bossages du rotor mâle, également constitués d'un matériau composite permettent de positionner les rotors femelles à une faible distance du rotor mâle .. Cette distance est suffisament faible pour que le réfrigérant liquide assure une étanchéité, un refroidissement et une lubrification suffisants. La position des rotors femelles de part et d'autre du rotor mâle compense la charge radiale s'exercant sur le rotor mâle et réduit par là la charge radiale sur les paliers.
