Abstract:
(EN) The invention consists of a latch member (4) which is adapted to be inserted into a frame member of a security grille or a door or window, which is biased to an unlocked position, preferably by a spring means (28). To move the latch member to the locked position requires a tension force to be applied to tension means such as a cable (16) or a chain which will move that latch member to the locked position and only keep the latch member in the locked position if the tension is maintained on the tensioning means. The tension is maintained by a trigger mechanism (50), which can be triggered with relatively little force at an appropriate time or emergency.
