Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus (10) for cutting an excavation in solid material is disclosed. The apparatus (10) includes two cutting wheels (15, 16) for cutting an excavation in the material, support means (11-14, 17-42) supporting the cutting wheels (15, 16) and arrangement means (40, 41) operatively associated with the cutting wheels (15, 16) to arrange the cutting wheels (15, 16) relative to each other whereby reaction forces from cutting the excavation in the solid material result in a required net force on the support means (11-14, 17-42). It is appropriate to fit two cutting wheels or cutting and breaking wheels which counter-rotate, since in this arrangement the torque-reactions would be expected substantially to cancel. Each cutting wheel (15, 16) has a top surface which curves upwardly adjacent the peripheral edge of the wheel. The peripheral surface is fitted with a plurality of cutting picks or drag tools which excavate an undercut in the solid material as each wheel (15, 16) is rotated. A bursting wheel assembly may be fitted to each cutting wheel (15, 16) which is pushed into the undercut to break-up the solid material as each wheel (15, 16) is rotated. The cutting picks may be mounted on the ends of a plurality of arms extending outwardly and upwardly from a hub portion of each wheel (15, 16) to allow the escape of excavated material from the solid material. Apparatus (10) can be mounted onto the end of a boom or arm on a tracked excavator by means of mounting plate (23).
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil (10) pour former une excavation dans un matériau solide. L'appareil (10) comprend deux roues coupantes (15, 16) pour réaliser une excavation dans ledit matériau, un moyen de support (11-14), (17-42) supportant les roues coupantes (15, 16) et un dispositif (40, 41) coopérant avec les roues coupantes (15, 16) pour les positionner l'une par rapport à l'autre de manière à ce que les forces de réaction, dues au travail d'excavation dans le matériau solide, produisent la force nette requise sur le moyen de support (11-14), (17-42). Il est avantageux d'installer les deux roues coupantes ou la roue coupante et la roue broyeuse pour qu'elles tournent en sens inverse, car dans ce système, les couples antagonistes s'annulent sensiblement. Chaque roue coupante (15, 16) a une surface supérieure courbée vers le haut, près du bord périphérique de la roue. La surface périphérique est pourvue d'une pluralité de pics ou d'outils d'excavation qui creusent une excavation horizontale dans le matériau solide, lorsque les roues (15, 16) tournent. Un dispositif de dislocation peut être installé sur chaque roue coupante (15, 16) pour être poussé dans l'excavation horizontale et disloquer le matériau solide lorsque les roues (15, 16) tournent. Les pics coupants peuvent être montés aux extrémités d'une pluralité de bras s'étendant vers l'extérieur et vers le haut depuis une partie de moyeu de chaque roue (15, 16) pour permettre au matériau détaché, d'être évacué de l'excavation. L'appareil (10) peut être monté à l'extrémité d'un bras sur une excavatrice à chenilles, au moyen d'une plaque de montage (23).
