Abstract:
(EN) A thermoplastic film is comprised of an admixture of 20 to 85 weight percent cellulose ester fibers and 80 to 15 weight percent cellulose fibers and a functional amount of a cellulose ester plasticizer. The film has an opacity in the range of 10 to 85 percent, a thickness in the range of 0.05 to 0.25 mm (0.002 to 0.010 inch), a porosity in the range of 0.0 to 50 ml/min/cm2 at a 1.0 centibar pressure drop and a compostability of less than 65 days fragmentation. The film is prepared by making a paper comprised of 20 to 85 weight percent cellulose ester fibers and 80 to 15 weight percent cellulose fibers and saturating the paper with a functional amount of a cellulose ester plasticizer. The saturated paper is subjected to heat and pressure for a period of time to obtain the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film is prepared without the use of solvents and is economically attractive since it is compatible with conventional paper printing materials and techniques.
(FR) Feuille thermoplastique constituée d'un mélange de 20 à 85 % en poids de fibres d'ester de cellulose et de 80 à 15 % en poids de fibres de cellulose et d'une quantité suffisante d'un plastifiant à esters de cellulose. Cette feuille présente un opacité comprise entre 10 et 85 %, une épaisseur comprise entre 0,05 et 0,25 mm, une porosité comprise entre 0,0 et 50 ml/min/cm2 pour une chute de pression de 1,0 centibar, et une compostabilité de moins de 65 jours de fragmentation. Afin de préparer ladite feuille, on réalise un papier constitué de 20 à 85 % en poids de fibres d'ester de cellulose et de 80 à 15 % en poids de fibres de cellulose, et on sature le papier d'une quantité suffisante d'un plastifiant à esters de cellulose. On soumet le papier saturé à l'action de la chaleur et de la pression pendant une durée déterminée afin d'obtenir la feuille thermoplastique. On prépare cette feuille thermoplastique sans utiliser de solvants, et elle est intéressante sur le plan économique car elle est compatible avec les produits et techniques traditionnels de l'impression sur papier.
