Title (EN) NEUROGENIC DIFFERENTIATION (NeuroD) GENES AND PROTEINS
(FR) GENES ET PROTEINES OBTENUS PAR DIFFERENTIATION NEUROGENIQUE (NeuroD)
Abstract:
(EN) Neurogenic differentiation genes and proteins from human, mouse, and frog are identified, isolated, and sequenced. Expression of $i(neuroD1) has been demonstrated in neural, pancreatic, and gastrointestinal cells, and expression of $i(neuroD2) was detected in brain. Ectopic expression of $i(neuroD1) and $i(neuroD2) in non-neuronal cells of $i(Xenopus) embryos induced formation of neurons. $i(NeuroD1) knock-out mice had diabetes.
