Abstract:
(EN) An assembly for converting a common, solely-acoustic stethoscope (40) into an electronically amplified stethoscope is mechanically connected to a conventional stethoscope's tubular structure. An earpiece unit (10a, 10b) replaces the standard earpiece on the earpiece-end (101) of the common, solely-acoustic stethoscope (40). The earpiece unit (10a, 10b) is positioned so that the standard air column response of a common solely-acoustic stethoscope (40) is picked up by a microphone placed inside the earpiece unit, thus capturing the acoustic output of the stethoscope and transmitting it back to an amplifier and frequency equalizer unit. The electronic signal is then directed to a speaker located in the earpiece unit for monitoring by the operator, or, alternately, the signal is directed to a number of other remote units for the purpose of facilitating teaching and learning.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un ensemble permettant de convertir un stéthoscope usuel purement acoustique (40) en un stéthoscope à amplification électronique et qui se monte sur la structure tubulaire d'un stéthoscope classique purement acoustique (40). Un écouteur (10a, 10b) qui remplace l'embout auriculaire normal (101) d'un stéthoscope classique purement acoustique (40) est placé de manière à capter le signal de la colonne d'air du stéthoscope usuel (40) à l'aide d'un microphone placé dans l'écouteur, lequel signal est retransmis à un amplificateur et à un égaliseur de fréquences. Le signal électronique est ensuite transmis soit à un haut-parleur placé dans l'écouteur pour permettre l'auscultation, soit à des fins didactiques à tout autre système éloigné.
