The present invention involves a system for routing video telecommunication calls received by a central exchange to one of a plurality of video stations connected to the exchange. Each video communication channel occupies two voice-quality telephone channels. Video telecommunication calls are initiated by a video device having preassigned telephone numbers. The video device then calls the central exchange. The routing system contains a telephone switch that connects the first incoming telephone channel to a video station. The ANI of the calling video device is recorded. When the second incoming telephone channel of the same video station is received, its ANI is detected. Because the telephone numbers associated with the calling video device are preassigned, the routing system is able to anticipate the second ANI of the channel which carries the video telecommunication. Upon receiving a call having the second ANI, the routing system then connects this call to the same video station.

La présente invention se rapporte à un système d'acheminement d'appels de télécommunication vidéo reçus par un central téléphonique, en direction d'une pluralité de stations vidéo reliées audit central. Chaque voie de télécommunication vidéo occupe deux voies téléphoniques offrant la qualité requise pour la transmission de la parole. Les appels de télécommunication vidéo sont initialisés par un dispositif vidéo doté de numéros téléphoniques pré-affectés. Puis, ledit dispositif vidéo appelle le central téléphonique. Le système d'acheminement comporte un commutateur téléphonique qui connecte la première voie téléphonique entrante à une station vidéo. L'identification automatique de numéro (ANI) du dispositif vidéo appelant est enregistrée. Lorsque la seconde voie téléphonique entrante de la même station vidéo est reçue, son ANI est détectée. Du fait que les numéros de téléphone associés au dispositif vidéo appelant sont pré-affectés, le système d'acheminement a la possibilité de prévoir la seconde ANI de la voie qui achemine la télécommunication vidéo. Lorsqu'il reçoit un appel portant la même ANI, le système d'acheminement connecte alors cet appel à la même station vidéo.
