Title (EN) OPTICAL DISK DRIVE
(FR) UNITE DE DISQUE OPTIQUE
Abstract:
(EN) An optical disk drive which uses an optical disk as a recording medium is provided with a skew control mechanism which controls the relative inclination between the optical disk and an objective lens so as to selectively record and/or reproduce data on first optical disk having a standard recording density or a second optical disk of a higher recording density. Only when the second disk is loaded and data are recorded on and/or reproduced from the second optical disk, the relative inclination between the objective lens and second disk is controlled by means of the skew control mechanism.
