Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus (20) for measuring the axial deviation of a vehicle wheel surface (22) relative to a reference plant (30). The apparatus includes a base (25) which supports the vehicle wheel (21). A post (35) is mounted upon the base (25). The post (35) has an axial bore (38) formed therein. The bore (38) has an end surface (39) which is a known distance from the reference plane (30). The apparatus (20) also has a housing (42) adapted to contact a plurality of reference points located on a surface (22) of the wheel, the plurality of points defining an annular surface on a portion of the wheel face. The apparatus (20) further includes a gage (41) mounted on the housing (42). The gage (41) has a probe (43) which is received by the post bore (38). The gage (41) is operative to measure the deviation of the axial distance between the annular surface (22) on the wheel face and the reference plane (30).
(FR) Cette invention concerne un appareil (20) de mesure de la déviation axiale d'une surface (22) de roue de véhicule par rapport à un plan de référence (30). Ledit appareil comporte une base (25) qui supporte la roue du véhicule (21) et sur laquelle est fixé un montant (35) à l'intérieur duquel est formé un alésage axial (38). Ledit alésage (38) comporte une surface terminale (39) qui se trouve à une distance connue du plan de référence (30). L'appareil (20) comporte également un boîtier (42) conçu pour entrer en contact avec une pluralité de points de référence disposés au niveau d'une surface (22) de la roue, ladite pluralité de points définissant une surface annulaire sur une partie de la face de la roue. Ledit appareil (20) comporte en outre une jauge (41) fixée au boîtier (42). Cette jauge (41) comporte une sonde (43) qui est logée à l'intérieur de l'alésage (38) dudit montant. La jauge (41) sert à mesurer la déviation axiale entre la surface annulaire (22) de la face de la roue et le plan de référence (30).
