Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to a boat using the wind as a prime mover without generating important rolling and yawing moments. This boat which is powered by a kite comprises an arm (1) hinged at one extremity (2) to the boat, and means for controlling the arm (1) in inclination (3) and in orientation (4), the free end (5) of the arm (1) being the traction point wherein connection lines (6) leave the boat to join the kite. Appropriate inclination (3) and orientation (4) of the arm (1) cause the traction straight-line (10) of the kite pass close to the center-board (11) of the boat, thereby reducing and even cancelling the rolling and yawing moments. The boat of the invention is particularly intended to rapid displacement using the wind.
(FR) L'invention concerne un navire utilisant le vent pour se déplacer sans générer de couples de roulis et de lacet importants. Ce navire qui est tracté par cerf-volant, comporte un bras (1) articulé par une extrémité (2) avec le navire, et des moyens de commande du bras (1) en inclinaison (3) et en orientation (4), l'extrémité libre (5) du bras (1) constituant le point de traction où les fils de liaison (6) quittent le navire pour rejoindre le cerf-volant. Une inclinaison (3) et une orientation (4) adéquates du bras (1) font passer la droite de traction (10) du cerf-volant près du centre de dérive (11) du navire, réduisant, voire annulant les couples de roulis et de lacet. Le navire selon l'invention est particulièrement destiné au déplacement rapide grâce au vent.
