A method for protecting a substrate sheet (46) such as a conductive foil suitable for use in the manufacture of printed circuit boards involving applying a lamination mold-release layer (28) to one side of a protective film (12), and applying a preferably electron beam curable adhesive pressure-sensitive coating (42) to the other side of the film, curing the adhesive coating, and laminating the protective film to the foil (46) or other substrate sheet, which, in turn, may be laminated to other substrates such as dielectric sheets (60). The laminate product is a protected substrate sheet having a protective film laminated to one side of the sheet (or both), the film having a lamination mold-release layer on one side thereof and an electron beam cured pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the other side thereof, said other side contacting but being releasably detachable from said substrate sheet. Where the substrate sheet is a foil or similar surface, protection is thus provided during handling and storage as well as during lamination, and the protective film is peelably detachable from the foil.

Procédé de protection d'une feuille de substrat (46), telle qu'un feuil conducteur pouvant être utilisé dans la fabrication de cartes de circuits imprimés, qui consiste à appliquer une couche anti-adhésive (28) de stratification sur un côté d'un film protecteur (12) et à appliquer un revêtement auto-adhésif (42), de préférence, durcissant par faisceau d'électrons, sur l'autre côté du film, à durcir le revêtement adhésif et à stratifier le film protecteur sur le feuil (46) ou autre substrat de ce type, qui, à son tour, peut être stratifié sur d'autres substrats, tels que des plaques diélectriques (60). Ce produit stratifié est une feuille de substrat protégée, dont un côté (ou les deux) possède un film protecteur comportant une couche de stratification anti-adhésive sur un de ses côtés et un revêtement auto-adhésif durci par faisceau d'électrons sur l'autre côté, ce dernier étant en contact avec la feuille de substrat mais pouvant être détaché de ladite feuille. Si la feuille de substrat est un feuil ou une surface similaire, sa protection est, de ce fait, assurée pendant la manipulation et le stockage, ainsi que pendant la stratification et le film protecteur peut être décollé du feuil.
