Abstract:
(EN) A particulate filter (4) regeneration system includes at least two microwave sources (6) for producing microwaves connected so that the microwaves heat particulate filter (4). Alternatively, there can be at least one microwave source (6) in communication with particulate filter (4) through a plurality of ports. A method of regenerating particulate filter (4) includes the steps of passing engine exhaust through particulate filter (4), followed by heating particulate filter (4) from a plurality of directions with microwaves.
(FR) Cette invention concerne un système de régénération d'un filtre (4) à particules qui comporte au moins deux sources (6) de production de micro-ondes, connectées de telle sorte que les micro-ondes chauffent le filtre (4) à particules. Une autre possibilité consiste à ne disposer que d'une source de micro-ondes (6) en communication avec le filtre (4) à particules par l'intermédiaire d'une pluralité d'orifices. Un procédé de régénération du filtre (4) à particules consiste à faire passer les gaz d'échappement du moteur à travers le filtre (4) à particules, puis à chauffer le filtre (4) à particules avec des micro-ondes émises suivant une pluralité de directions.
